At Balcons Verdun, all our aluminum railings are designed to meet the requirements of the Quebec Construction Code – Chapter I, Building, which incorporates the provisions of the 2015 National Building Code of Canada as amended (2022).
- 📏Regulatory guardrail height (article 9.8.8.3):
- ✅ 900 mm (36 in) when the fall height is between 600 mm and 1,800 mm.
- ✅ 1,070 mm (42 in) when the fall height is 1,800 mm or more.
- 🔒 Safe spacing between elements (article 9.8.8.5): No gap shall allow the passage of a spherical object of 100 mm (4 in) or more, to ensure children’s safety.
- 💪 Load resistance (article 9.8.8.2): Guardrails must withstand a uniform horizontal load of 0.75 kN/m or a point load of 1 kN applied at any point.
